NEW YEAR, NEW VERSION SAP B1 V9

It’s a new year and SAP has announced the release of SAP BUSINESS ONE Version 9.SAP Business One

Version 9 is currently in ‘ramp up’ which means it is not yet widely available but general release is expected to be the 2nd quarter of 2013.

SAP BUSINESS ONE Version 9 is the first release in the version 9 family and will include some eagerly awaited features, such as:

  • Bin Locations
  • Fixed Assets
  • Multiple Unites of Measure
  • Workflow
  • Improved EDI integration

You’d be forgiven for thinking “it’s from SAP, it’s going to cost a small fortune”. Wrong, SAP Business One Starter Package licences will cost less than a thousand pounds each and for that you get access to 80% of the full SAP Business One system.


The most interesting advantages of SAP Business One Starter Package offers over its main competitors is its ability to handle multi-currency transactions, open and closed accounting periods, built-in CRM, batch and serial numbers tracking, multi company and the fact that it operates on a Microsoft SQL platform.

SAP Business One Licence Tool

The new SAP Business One License Validation Service is a new tool provided, free of charge, by SAP to assists clients with identifying and proactively resolving unexpected license issues when upgrading to SAP Business One 8.8.

Customers who have unintentionally overused the functionality of limited users might not be able to access the same functionality they had prior to upgrading.

The SAP license validation tool will identify if named users are used as collective users e.g. dual log ins or concurrent usage. It is important to identify any issues prior to upgrading and make sure all users are compliant with the SAP Business One licensing and usage terms.
