SMEs THINK BIG; the growth imperative by SAP

A recent survey conducted by SAP has found that, despite the economic downturn, UK small to medium-sized enterprises are in a ‘confident and optimistic’ mood and that they are still, ‘thinking big’ despite being aware of the challenges that this involves.

The survey finds that there are 4 key pillars of growth; Innovation, Management, Technology and Money & Finance.

Other key findings:

  • 96% of the SMEs surveyed confirmed that they are looking to grow their business
  • 30% are seeking to grow at a fast rate than their competitors
  • On average, SMEs expect to grow by 20% in the next 2 years, 48% expecting to grow by more than this
  • 41% of SMEs rate growth over commercial stability, seeing this as a  greater priority over the coming two years
  • Confidence in growth predictions is high – 81% are confident that they will achieve their planned growth objectives
